Zvíkov is a breathtaking sight at the confluence of the Otava and Vltava rivers. Its present appearance is marked by the Renaissance reconstruction, which produced a brewery that is now one of the microbreweries with the longest tradition. The place is shrouded in several legends and one of them, Zvíkovský rarášek (The Little Devil of Zvíkov), inspired Ladislav Stroupežnický to write a play of the same name, and Vítězslav Novák's opera is also based on this story. You can make your visit to this breathtaking place even more enjoyable by taking a steamboat ride down the Vltava River to the castle.
